Sources name Magas attackers

During the attack on policemen in Magas, Mikail Miziev was killed, whose relative committed a similar attack on policemen officers in Ingushetia in 2017, a source said. The second Magas attacker has been identified as Akhmed Imagozhev, a master of sports in arm wrestling.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 31, the DPS post at the entrance to Magas was attacked. Sources of the "Caucasian Knot" have confirmed the deaths of the policeman, Zelemkhan Kokorkhoev, and one of the attackers. Another attacker was wounded and placed into a resuscitation ward.

According to the calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", the attack was the third armed incident in the region within the year and the first such incident since the fall of 2017.

The attackers have been identified as Mikail Miziev and Akhmed Imagozhev. Miziev, 18, was shot dead; Imagozhev was wounded and hospitalized in Nazran, the Telegram channel "Glavkom RI" has reported.

This information was confirmed by the "Interfax" with reference to its own source, who has confirmed that the killed Mikail Miziev is a relative of the 20-year-old resident of Ingushetia, Magomed Miziev, who was killed by law enforcers during a similar attack in 2017.
