Special and counterterrorist operations

On December 27, law enforcers held a raid near the "Tangim" Mosque in General Omarov Street in Makhachkala. The law enforcers' mobile checkpoints were arranged in four locations to control the main exits from the "Tangim" Mosque. The raid involved both law enforcers in uniform and in civilian clothes. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan explained that at the "Tangim" Mosque, law enforcers enhanced security in places of mass accumulation of people. No one was detained or taken to a police station.

Kidnapping

Early in the morning on December 26, law enforcers broke into a private house in the village of Yandi in the Achkhoi-Martan District of Chechnya. The law enforcers refused to show their IDs or explain the reason for their actions, but seized Islam and Umar Djabrailov and took them away to some unknown destination. The Chechen MIA reports it has got no information about the detention of the Djabrailov brothers.

The provided statistics cannot reflect the number of victims with the 100 percent accuracy. Not all information is included in the news reports. It is not always possible to check the reliability of the statements voiced by the law enforcement bodies. Besides, new facts about the events of the reporting period become often known after the statistics had been already published on the "Caucasian Knot".
