On the border with Abkhazia, members of the Georgian "Golos" (Vote) movement have held an action demanding to liberate doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili, convicted for violating the Georgian-South-Ossetian border.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 20, a court in South Ossetia sentenced Vazha Gaprindashvili, the president of the Georgian Association of Orthopaedics and Traumatologists, to a year and nine months in prison for violating the border.

Actions were held in Tbilisi and on the border with South Ossetia demanding to set Vazha Gaprindashvili free.

Young people rode their bicycles from the village of Djvari in the Tsalenjikha District of Georgia to the village of Muzhava, which is located on the demarcation line with Abkhazia.
