Social network users are optimistic about Kalimatov's appointment

When being Public Prosecutor of Ingushetia, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov was in conflict with the then Ingush president Murat Zyazikov, despite their family relations. Kalimatov's family members are respected in the republic, social network users note.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation of the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Evkurov, and appointed Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov as acting head of Ingushetia.

In social networks, residents of Ingushetia are commenting on the appointment of Kalimatov to the post of the head of the republic with restrained optimism. Members of the legal community were among the first to speak about the new leader. "Kalimatov is far from being the worst candidate," Kaloi Akhilgov, a lawyer, wrote in his Twitter account.

Residents of the republic refer to Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov's relatives with respect.

"They are a worthy family and decent people. His brother, Alikhan Kalimatov, was killed shortly after he took the trail of missing people in Ossetia," the user rada_24_ wrote on the Instagram.

"I'm personally very pleased with this appointment. When Kalimatov was the republic's public prosecutor, I heard only best references about him," the user _lizka___95 has noted.
