Georgian MoD reports soldier's death

Paata Chkhaidze, a contract serviceman of the National Guard of Georgia, has been driven to suicide, investigators suggested.

According to the Georgian Ministry of Defence (MoD), Chkhaidze's body was found on May 15 in his apartment in Tbilisi. At the moment of his death, the military serviceman was on vacation, the "News-Georgia" has reported.

"The investigation has been initiated under the article on driving to suicide," the "InterPressNews" has reported referring to the MoD.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 12, Vladimir Makhatadze, a soldier of the military infantry brigade, was found dead in the territory of the Vaziani Military Base. On that incident, a case on driving to suicide was also initiated.
