Grozny students report being forced to attend festival "Crimean Spring"

In Grozny, more than 10,000 people attended an event organized by the Chechen authorities on the occasion of the anniversary of the Crimea's annexation, the City Mayoralty reported. Students reported being forced to participate in the festive event.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Chechnya, public employees and students have repeatedly reported about being forced to take part in actions organized by the authorities. In particular, on November 4, 2018, they were obliged to come to a rally on the occasion of the National Unity Day.

Students of Grozny institutions of higher education reported they had been obliged to participate in the event held on March 17.

"Our participation in the festival was 'voluntarily and compulsory.' There is a strict control over the attendance: if you miss a public event a couple of times, then it will affect you. They can ban you from passing tests. Therefore, we have to attend rallies and matches," student Aslanbek confirmed.
