Participants of Makhachkala anime festival complain to Prosecutor's Office about threats

Participants of the AniDag anime festival, which was not held in November because of threats, demanded from the Dagestani law enforcement bodies to investigate a criminal case on incitement of hostility.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the anime festival, which was to be held in Makhachkala on November 25, was disrupted. According to journalist Svetlana Anokhina, organizers were bombarded with threats. Activist Marat Ismailov reported that at least one participant of the anime festival was injured during the conflict

The conflict was caused by records from the rehearsal of the programme. They provoked a negative reaction from conservative-minded young people, and the management of the theatre accused the organizers of the anime festival of deception and cancelled the event for fear of pogroms.

Four participants of the disrupted anime festival and a witness to the incident filed complaints to the Prosecutor's Office with requests to bring to justice five persons who, according to them, were involved in disrupting the event, including representatives of the Avar Theatre. That was reported by the "Youth of Dagestan".
