After release of Grigoryan, Echmiadzin residents block the road

The townspeople, dissatisfied with the release of Manvel Grigoryan, have blocked the exit from Echmiadzin, demanding the return the Armenian MP back into custody. They blocked the road immediately after the court ruled to release Grigoryan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 16, Manvel Grigoryan was detained on suspicion of illegal arms circulation. According to Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, the retired general had appropriated the humanitarian aid intended for the army. During a search of Grigoryan's house, they found cartridges, ammunition, stock of military food supplies and firearms. On December 21, Manvel Grigoryan was released on bail of 52,000 US dollars.

One of the protesters said that the judge must justify his decision to release Grigoryan on bail.

Diana Grigoryan, the Mayor of Echmiadzin, addressed the protesters, expressed her support for them, but asked to free up the traffic on the road. The protesters agreed to unblock the road, promising to resume their action on December 23.
