Kalmyk University confirms disappearance of student

Aisa Khulaeva, a student, who filmed a ballot-stuffing at the recent elections, has not appeared in the hostel and at classes since; an application has been submitted on her disappearance, the Kalmyk State University (KSU) has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Aisa Khulaeva, a KSU student, who made a video of ballot-stuffing in at the polling station in the settlement of Primanych village, had ceased to answer the calls. On September 11, the Kalmyk branch of the "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" (Fair Russia) Party reported that Khulaeva was last seen at the investigator's office.

On September 13, the Rector's Office of the KSU posted on its website an appeal "to all citizens" in connection with Aisa Khulaeva's disappearance.

"The Rector's Office of the KSU expresses its extreme concern about the disappearance of Aisa Khulaeva; and in this context has submitted an application to investigatory bodies about her absence at classes and in the hostel for the last three days," says the appeal.

The student "has become a hostage to the situation and an involuntary participant in that unscrupulous game played by certain political forces," the university administration has suggested.
