In Yerevan, two members of "Sasna Tsrer" released from custody

Today, the court has pronounced the decision to release on bail Vardan Geravetyan and Toros Torosyan, accused of seizing a building of the police regiment in Yerevan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the case against the unit "Sasna Tsrer", instituted against 32 people, went to court in June 2017. After the change of power in Armenia, the courts began to pronounce decisions to release from the arrests the persons accused in the case. On July 11, Mkhitar Avetisyan, a member of the unit "Sasna Tsrer", became the eighteenth person released in the case.

On July 17-31, 2016, the armed unit "Sasna Tsrer", consisting of supporters of the opposition "Constituent Parliament", was keeping the building of the patrol-and-post service in the Armenian capital. The rebels also seized hostages and released them on the day before surrendering.

Today, the judge has pronounced the decision to release Vardan Geravetyan on bail of million drams (about 2078 US dollars) and Toros Torosyan on bail of 500,000 drams, the Court Department of Armenia reported.

It should be noted that in the case against the unit "Sasna Tsrer", Aram Akopyan, Aram Manukyan, and Ovannes Arutyunyan have already been released. The number of the released figurants of the case reached 20 people.
