Father of another killed schoolboy joins protest action in Georgia

On June 1, a father of another killed teenager supported Zaza Saralidze, who initiated a protest action, but urged him to trust investigators and the authorities.

Starting from May 31, Tbilisi hosts the action "#donotkill, provoked by an unfair, according to protestors, verdict pronounced in the case on the murder of two schoolchildren. Irakli Shotadze, Chief Prosecutor of Georgia, resigned against the background of protests. The court made the verdict to the defendants more severe, but the protesters claimed they did not trust investigators.

The father of the other killed teenager has said that he "does not want a revolution," the Georgian "First Channel" reports.

On the air of the "Iberia" TV Channel, Zviad Kuprava, the head of the NGO "Centre for Justice Reform", warned about a provocation at the protest action.

Earlier, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported that Zaza Saralidze, the father of the killed schoolboy, is in danger and offered him to participate in the witness protection programme.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 31, more than ten participants of the counteraction arranged by the movement "Georgian March" were detained in Tbilisi. They claimed that the action #donotkill" was used for political purposes.
