Chechen teenagers get into a fight when authorities distribute bicycles

In Chechnya, the distribution of gifts at the grand opening of the city centre has ended in conflicts among children. Residents complained about the bad organization of the action.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 11, the centre of the Shali city has been opened after the reconstruction. The authorities of the Chechen Republic distributed 1000 bicycles to children and teenagers for free.

Children quarrelled over bicycles, and many of them went home without gifts, local residents report.

"Bicycles were not enough for all children. The older children took them away by force from the weaker and smaller children," said Markha.

The process of distributing the bicycles was to be regulated and strictly controlled, residents of the Shali city believe.

"Children took bicycles from hands of others. There were tears and resentments," noted Said-Khusein, a resident of the city.

On May 13, a video appeared on YouTube, showing how a crowd of children became active with the start of distribution of bicycles.
