Karabakh village of Talish hosts first wedding party after the war

The Karabakh village of Talish, whose residents were evacuated during the war in 2016, is still being restored. The first wedding party after evacuation took part there with 250 guests.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in April 2016, Talish village, located in the Martakert District of Nagorno-Karabakh was exposed to bombardments; and many houses were destroyed.

Vilen Petrosyan, the head of the Talish community, said that now one family and about 15 men live in the village; they are engaged in construction work and plan to bring their families there in the near future.

According to his story, the newlyweds Tigran Petrosyan and Lilit Biruzyan plan to live in the village.

Father Matevos, a clergyman, who has married the young couple, has noted that "it was a great event for the village of Talish; and the newlyweds gave hope to people."

Sisters Nora and Anush Apresyan believe that the young couple made a brave deed by deciding to celebrate their wedding in their native village; and this inspires the Talish villagers.
