Nine people fell victim to mine collapse in Georgia

Six persons were killed and other three were wounded as a result of a collapse at the Mindeli mine in Tkibuli, the Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports.

According to the MIA, a wall was deformed and a ceiling collapsed in a tunnel.

The "Gruzcoal" Company, an owner of the mine, has called the accident a technogenic disaster.

In 2017, a number of accidents occurred at the same mine and miners were killed. So, on May 9, four persons died as a result of falling from a height of 400 meters. The incident provoked a rally with the demand to investigate the tragedy and punish the guilty persons.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has also reported about the death of a miner in March after a collapse at the Shukruti mine in Chiatura.
