Battalion of military police returns from Syria to Ingushetia

On April 3, Ingush leader Yunus-Bek Evkurov awarded fighter of a military police battalion who returned from the Middle East.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that starting since December 2016, battalions of military police from Chechnya and Ingushetia went to Syria and worked there to ensure order and escort convoys with humanitarian supplies and evacuation of refugees. On December 11, 2017, President Vladimir Putin ordered to withdraw the Russian group from Syria.

At a solemn meeting, Yunus-Bek Evkurov presented state awards to the fighters who returned from Syria, the "Interfax-South" reports.

Let us remind you that the battalion was composed of special forces fighters. All the soldiers sent to Syria with the peacekeeping mission were volunteers, the press service for the Ingush leader reports.
