GPO reveals multi-million damage from illegal property transactions in Dagestan

The damage from illegal transfers of land and real estate in Dagestan exceeds 143 million roubles, the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Russia has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a GPO's special group arrived to check Dagestan on January 17. Vladimir Vasiliev, the acting head of Dagestan, said that the group would study the work of Dagestani officials and the respect for human rights in the republic.

The group has already found out that real estate objects and land plots had been illegally granted into ownership in Dagestan.

Also, according to the GPO, "numerous facts of illegal registration of ownership rights through sale contracts on non-residential premises and land plots have been revealed."
