Over 50 people hold "Voters' Strike" in Makhachkala

More than 50 people took part in the All-Russian action "Voters' Strike", held in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan. They gathered at the Avar Theatre, where earlier authorities did not sanction the action.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today a number of Russian cities held actions in support of "Voters' Strike", whose supporters call for a boycott of the upcoming Russian presidential election.

There were about 50 protesters in Makhachkala. Marat Ismailov, an activist of the public project "City Is Ours", was the organizer of the event. When addressing the audience, he stressed that the main aim of the rally was to draw attention to the importance of holding fair elections and preventing falsifications at polling stations, the RIA "Derbent" writes.

Users of social networks shared their impressions of the latest action. "Makhachkala residents, you are great guys! At last, everything went as we had expected; and the police did their work, that is, did not interfere; and a special thank to them for that," said a message posted in the group "Makhachkala: Voters' Strike" in the social network "VKontakte".
