On December 25-31, 2017, no one fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of December 25-31, 2017, no victims to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus were registered. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Special and counterterrorist operations

On December 27, in the capital of Chechnya, law enforcers were inspecting IDs of local tenants and drivers. The policemen were visiting houses and examining IDs of local residents. The people were asked about the number of family members, a private car, and strangers in houses. The policemen wrote down their mobile phone numbers. The law enforcement bodies explained the inspections by enhancement of security measures on the eve of the New Year.

Detentions

On December 29, law enforcers repeatedly searched believers of the mosque located in General Omarov Street in Makhachkala after a Friday prayer. A mobile checkpoint was arranged near the mosque, which accumulated about 10 law enforcers. In the course of preventive measures, 15 people were brought to the police station, and all of them were released after the verification.
