ECtHR sanctions deportation of Dagestani native from Germany

On August 29, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) recognized as legitimate the decision of the court in Germany to deport to Russia an 18-year-old native of Dagestan, suspected of being involved in terrorist activities.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 17, the Federal Administrative Court of the Federal Republic of Germany authorized the deportation to Russia of an 18-year-old native of Dagestan who lived almost all his life in Germany. The decision was made after law enforcers suspected the young man in correspondence with a member of a Syrian terrorist grouping and an Islamist from the city of Essen.

After the Court's decision, the young man appealed to the ECtHR and claimed that in Russia he could be detained or kidnapped and tortured, the "Deutsche Welle" reports.

According to the edition, the European Court announced a temporary ban on the deportation, requested both parties for details of the case, and after that it decided to lift the ban.

At the hearing of the ECtHR, all seven judges unanimously decided to lift the ban on the deportation of the native of Dagestan, reports the press release posted on the European Court's website on August 29.
