Fire in National Park of Georgia localized

Fire-fighters have stopped the spread of fire in Borjomi-Kharagauli forest. So far, the weather conditions prevent a complete suppression of the ignition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

The fire broke out on August 20 near the village of Daba in the Borjomi Gorge. Today, the area under fire is 5 hectares.

"There is no danger of fire spread... Yesterday, over 200 fire-fighters worked all night long," the "Sputnik-Georgia" quotes Georgy Mgebrishvili, the MIA head, as saying.

According to his story, the fire has destroyed more than five hectares of forest. The MIA has opened a criminal case under the article of "damage to property", the "Georgia Online" reports.
