Lezginka dancer hospitalized after his arrest in Gelendzhik

Salim Akhobekov, who served five days of arrest for dancing lezginka in Gelendzhik, was hospitalized in Nalchik, the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 12, in Gelendzhik, the police detained young people who were dancing lezginka. Two of them were arrested for five days. On August 18, the father of arrested Salim Akhobekov reported that after release from the IVS (temporary detention facility) Salim was summoned for interrogation.

After his arrival in the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic (KBR), Salim Akhobekov was hospitalized with suspicion of an infectious disease, the father of the young man reported.

"After Salim returned home to Nalchik, he felt bad, and he suffered from nausea and vomiting. He has likely got food poisoning," his father reported.

Today, Asker Sokht, the deputy chair of the "Adyge Khase" for the Krasnodar Territory, has written on his Facebook page that all the young people involved in the conflict in Gelendzhik returned to the KBR.

According to Circassian activists, the policemen who detained young people should be brought to responsibility, since the dancers did not violate the law. Meanwhile, officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have reported the young people failed to obey to the lawful demands of the policemen to produce their IDs and rendered resistance.
