In Armavir, Alexei Navalny's supporter sentenced to compulsory labour

The Armavir City Court has sentenced Yuri Vishnyakov to 20 hours of compulsory labour for taking part in an action held by supporters of opposition politician Alexei Navalny on June 12.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 12, in Russia, including the cities of the southern regions, anticorruption actions were held by supporters of opposition politician Alexei Navalny. In the Krasnodar Territory, the actions were accompanied by detentions of participants in Sochi, Krasnodar, Yeisk, and Novorossiysk.

The police drew up a protocol against Yuri Vishnyakov on violation of the procedure for holding public events, the "OVD-Info" reports on August 18 with reference to the activist himself.

On June 12, the action was held in Armavir in the format of a meeting in front of the Drama Theatre after the city authorities had refused to sanction an anticorruption rally, the "Voice of Kuban" reports.

The meeting was held without detentions. However, after it had been finished, policemen approached participants of the meeting and tried to claim that the activists held a rally in front of the Theatre and that the participants of the action learned about it from social networks, the "Voice of Kuban" reports.
