Georgian citizen detained on Abkhaz border

A resident of the pre-border Georgian village of Paluri was detained on the Inguri River, the Georgian State Security Service (SSS) reports.

According to the detainee's sister, Uta Samushiya went fishing; and then she was contacted by phone and told that he had been detained and is kept in the city of Gali.

According to the head of the Tsalendjikh's administration, Uta Samushiya was detained on the border between the villages of Paluri of the Tsalendjikh District, and of Riki, Zugdidi District, the “InterPressNews” reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 1, a Sukhumi court sentenced Georgian citizens Archiko Rogava and his son Paata to two years in prison each for trespassing the state border.
