Ramzan Kadyrov accuses rights defenders of creating hype around Chechnya

Russian and foreign human rights organizations try to cause an artificial response to the violation of human rights in Chechnya and ignore actual problems. This was stated by the leader of the Chechen Republic.

"If history can be turned into a political channel to provoke an artificial resonance, then human rights defenders are happy to act," Ramzan Kadyrov wrote to Telegram on July 21.

According to him, the human rights defenders are not interested in real problems of people.

"Social issues in the regions, people's livelihood, infrastructure, education, medicine are not the topics of interest for such 'human rights defenders.' Real problem of people will not help in earning grants and spreading pseudo human rights activity," Ramzan Kadyrov said.

He has noted the increased attention of the human rights defenders to Chechnya and stated that they protect "the rights of those who broke them". "Human rights activities mean truth, good and justice. And through breaking one of the components, these organizations encourage criminals," wrote the leader of the region.

On July 18, the HBO TV Channel showed an interview with the leader of Chechnya, in which Ramzan Kadyrov accused human rights defenders reporting the persecution of gays in Chechnya of corruption.
