Dagestani SC cancels fine imposed on organizer of anti-corruption rally

The Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan has found no law violations in the actions of Marat Ismailov, the organizer of the anti-corruption rally, and cancelled the fine imposed on him by the district court.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the above rally was held in Makhachkala on March 26. On March 27, Ismailov was fined by 10,000 roubles; and he lodged an appeal to the SC.

He has recalled that he was found guilty under the article of "Violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding a meeting or a rally."

Let us remind you that on March 26, many cities of Russia hosted actions of supporters of the oppositionist Alexei Navalny. The protesters demanded to investigate corruption allegations in the upper echelons of the state power. Actions of Navalny's of supporters were also held on June 12, in particular, in Southern Russia.
