Court releases musicians detained in Tbilisi
In Tbilisi, the court has pronounced the decision not to imprison Mikhail Mgaloblishvili and Giorgi Kebouriya, members of the "Birja Mafia" band, suspected of drug possession. Both rappers are released on bail.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 9, according to law enforcers, during the detention of the members of the "Birja Mafia" band, narcotic substances were seized from them. According to the detainees, staff members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) planted drugs to them. The Tbilisi Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the case of possible abuse of power and falsification of evidence by policemen.
On June 11, activists held a march in support of musicians, which was attended by several hundred people.
According to Giorgi Kebouriya, after his detention he was subjected to psychological pressure and forced to sign a confession.
