Armenian political analysts claim no prerequisites for war in Nagorno-Karabakh

The report of the International Crisis Group (ICG) on the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone is of benefit for the Azerbaijani side. This opinion was voiced by Stepan Grigoryan and Arman Navasardyan. According to Tigran Grigoryan, the report is primarily designed to increase the attention of the world community to the Karabakh conflict.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 1, the International Crisis Group (ICG) published a report on the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone. According to the reports, the tension can develop into a larger conflict.

On June 5, the Yerevan Journalism Club "Media Centre" hosted a press conference on the topic "Probability of resumption of the war in Artsakh".

The ICG's report reflects the position of Azerbaijan, believes political analyst Stepan Grigoryan, the director of the Armenian Centre for Globalization and Regional Cooperation.

According to him, several years ago, the ICG presented a similar report on the high probability of a new war between Armenia and Azerbaijan. However, the time has shown that the experts' conclusions turned out to be incorrect, Stepan Grigoryan notes.

Arman Navasardyan, Former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, has called the ICG's report a political sabotage. He has noted that "the reports should not be treated as a reason for panic, but it should be taken into account."

Meanwhile, political analyst Tigran Grigoryan, a member of the "National Renaissance" Party, believes the ICG's report to be quite objective and close to real situation.
