Imam of "Tangyim" mosque says power agents confiscated CCTV records

In the course of the search that lasted for three hours, power agents took away records from the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, Nigmatulla Radjabov, the Imam of the Makhachkala mosque, located in Hungarian Warriors Street, told the "Caucasian Knot". They explained their actions by checking the information about a bomb allegedly planted at School No. 15, the Imam has added.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today policemen came to the "Tangyim" mosque under the pretext of checking the message about the bomb allegedly planted at School No. 15, also located in the Hungarian Warriors (now, General Omarov) Street. They spent several hours in the mosque; then lifted the cordon and left. According to the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the call about the bomb was false.

As reported by Imam Radjabov, power agents came to the mosque in the afternoon. "They explained to me that they were checking the signal about a bomb; therefore, they had to inspect the mosque and my house. They also asked to evacuate all the parishioners from the mosque," the Imam told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

He added that the mosque is equipped with CCTV cameras; and power agents "took away all the record carriers." "They promised to return them within two days," said the Imam.

Police were searching the mosque for three hours. "They checked it for a long time, letting nobody, me including in. They lifted the cordon and left only by 3:30 p.m.," Imam Radjabov has added.
