Truckers leave action venue in KBR

The truckers, who held their protest in the vicinity of the dwelling settlement of Prokhladny, have left the venue, and gathered today to discuss how to continue the strike. So far, the truckers of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) have not refused to participate in the action demanding to abolish the "Platon" system.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 27, an all-Russian action against the "Platon" system was launched. The strike of KBR’s drivers began in the area of the town of Baksan; and on April 3, they parked their trucks in the vicinity of the dwelling settlement of Prokhladny. The police did not allow new participants to join the protest.

On April 6, the KBR protesters began going home, but this does not mean that they have stopped their strike, said Anastasia Emelianova, who is supporting the protest.

According to her story, this was due also by the fact that policemen copied the protesters’ data twice a day. The drivers decided not to continue the protest together, but to idle (strike) individually.

According to Oleg Dubnets, a driver, about half of all the republic’s truckers take part in the action. There could be more of them, if not for policemen’s actions, who had cordoned off Prokhladny on all sides and prohibited others from joining the protest; those, who parked their trucks there, were exposed to pressure.
