Ramzan Kadyrov reports shortage of funds for restoring Chechnya
The federal centre has not allocated sufficient funds for the restoration of Chechnya. As a result, some social and industrial facilities still remain unrepaired, and there is shortage of schools. This was reported by Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of the Chechen Republic.
According to him, the programme for restoration of Chechnya has not been fulfilled, despite the concession of the regional authorities regarding the sequestration of funds allocated for that purpose.
Ramzan Kadyrov has also reported that 130 billion roubles were allocated for the implementation of the programme; however, later, the amount was reduced down to 75 billion roubles.
"We had factories, we had literally everything. However, nothing has been restored. People should understand that the federal centre has failed to fulfil the programme, which is being implemented in all regions of the Russian Federation, in the ChechenRepublic, the only post-war region," said Ramzan Kadyrov as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".
In December, it became known that Chechnya would receive federal subsidies at the level of 2016, and the republic would become a recipient of some of the largest federal subsidies in 2017.
