Kirill Bobro charged with drug possession

Today, investigators in Stavropol presented Kirill Bobro, an activist of the "Yabloko" Party, a charge of a large-scale possession of drugs. Vitaly Zubenko, his advocate, said that the custody of his client has been appealed against.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Kirill Bobro, the head of the Stavropol branch of the "Youth Yabloko", was detained on March 16, after a search of his apartment, where power agents found a package with some green substance. On March 20, the court decided to arrest Kirill for two months.

After his detention, Mr Bobro went on a hunger strike, said his advocate. His fellow party members are sure that the drug was planted.

According to the advocate, the defence also wants to challenge the operative and search activities, including the search of the apartment, which led to the "discovery of drugs."

Also, he said, doubts are caused by the very fact of such rapid initiation of a criminal case.

According to Nikolai Kavkazsky, the head of the youth wing of the "Yabloko" Party in Moscow, a provocation was staged against Kirill Bobro. The reason, according to his version, could be Kirill’s oppositional activities, because of which he earlier received threats.
