Kirill Bobro arrested in Stavropol for two months

The judgement to arrest Kirill Bobro, the head of the Stavropol “Youth Yabloko” branch, for illegal drug dealing was passed today by the court in Stavropol; the activist himself asked the court to place him under house arrest.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 16, Kirill’s apartment was searched; and power agents announced the discovery of a bag with some green stuff in the pocket of the jacket in the hallway.

After detention, Kirill Bobro went on a hunger strike, said his advocate. The drug was planted on him, his fellow party members assert.

The court "disregarded the readiness of the ‘Yabloko’ to deposit a pledge and the activist’s small child," the party has stated.

The website of the “Yabloko” also states that the party believes "that Kirill Bobro is persecuted under political motives; and the case against him was fabricated."

The decision to arrest Kirill Bobro will be appealed against at the territorial court, said Vitaly Zubenko, his advocate, on the Facebook.

According to the “Yabloko” Party, Kirill Bobro was detained on February 22 after his solo pickets against the actions of law enforcers applied to one of the organizers of the rally in memory of Boris Nemtsov in Stavropol.
