Resident of Grozny arrested on charge of possessing ammunition

Ayub Anaev, a resident of the Chechen capital, has been arrested under the court's decision after law enforcers had seized from him ammunition for firearms and hand grenades.

A criminal case has been instituted against the man under two articles providing for responsibility for illegal storage of ammunition and explosive substances. However, the man was not taken into custody, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the Chechen Prosecutor's Office.

"Despite the strong reasons for the detention of Ayub Anaev, the investigating authorities did not take him into custody, but he just signed recognizance not to leave. And this is a violation.
