Political analysts state growth of tension in North Ossetia

The petition to rename Ingushetia into Alania has caused an increase of tension in the society of North Ossetia, said the experts, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 5, in Vladikavkaz, local young people attended a rally against the initiative on the renaming of Ingushetia.

Professor Yulia Usova from the North-Ossetian Institute of Humanitarian and Social Studies, believes that many people "came to the rally due to calls on the Internet."

"Calls were spread through social networks; and not all young people possess the appropriate level of education and the desire to learn in order to understand, what such actions can lead to," said Ms Usova.

At the same time, she has stressed her solidarity with the head of North Ossetia, who had earlier stated that the rally was a provocation. "Some destructive forces are interested to have an unstable situation in the republic. I treat this petition, of which the Ingush authorities were not even aware, as a purposeful provocation, aimed not only at aggravating the relations of Ingushetia and Ossetia, but also at destabilizing the situation throughout the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD)," Yulia Usova told the" Caucasian Knot "correspondent.

However, she believes that "one spark is enough to make things still worse".
