CPRF demands to check legality of ban to perpetuate Stalin’s memory

The legality of the law adopted in Ingushetia to ban any perpetuation of Stalin’s memory should be checked the prosecutor's office, Valery Rashkin, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), has stated, the “Echo Moskvy” Radio has reported today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 22, on the eve of the 73rd anniversary of deportation, Deputies of the People's Assembly of Ingushetia adopted, in the first reading, the draft law intended to ban any perpetuation of the memory of Stalin in the region.

Every year on February 23 Ingushetia holds mourning ceremonies in memory of the victims of the deportation of the Chechen and Ingush peoples.

Earlier, the head of Ingushetia said that Stalin "is the enemy of the Ingush and twelve other repressed peoples."
