Foreign observers report no violations at NKR’s referendum

The members of 15 foreign delegations, who monitored the constitutional referendum, have handed their conclusions about the absence of violations over to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR). In their view, the referendum can be considered valid.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 20, the NKR voted at the referendum on the new draft Constitution of the NKR. According to the CEC, as of 2:00 a.m. Moscow time on February 21, the draft was supported by 87.6% of the voters. Earlier, the CEC had stated that the referendum would be monitored by 207 observers, including 104 foreign ones from over 30 countries.

Frank Engel, the head of the friendship group with the NKR at in the European Parliament, said that the members of his group visited "many polling stations" and noticed no violations.

The high level of organization of the referendum and the absence of violations were also stated by the observers from the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Russia.

Let us note here that on February 20, Azerbaijan decided to put all the foreigners, who had visited the NKR for monitoring the referendum, on the list of unwanted persons.
