At the session of the North-Caucasian District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don, which is dealing with the case of Abdusalam Ramazanov, a native of the Tsuntin District of Dagestan, accused of an attempt to join militants in Syria, Ramazanov's relatives and fellow villagers gave their evidence: they had not notice any his illegal activities.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2015 Ramazanov left Turkey at the demand of Turkish special services and was detained in Russia. He asserts that he went to the Middle East for training – first in Egypt and then in Turkey.

According to the advocate Elena Denisenko, the fellow villagers told the court that Ramazanov pronounced peaceful preaches and had not distributed any literature and CDs.

According to the advocate, Ramazanov also said that after his detention in Makhachkala, he was tortured with electric shocks. According to his version, unable to withstand the torture, he signed everything that investigators demanded.

Earlier, the court refused to initiate proceedings on Ramazanov's statements about torture.
