Teen, who arrived from Syria to Adygea, settled in repatriates' family
The 17-year-old compatriot from Syria, who arrived in Adygea in late 2016, was accommodated into a repatriates' family and registered at a school, where he will learn the Russian language.
On December 28, 2016, Asker Sokht, an activist the Krasnodar territorial public organization "Adyge Khase", posted a message on his Facebook page that the 17-year-old teenager from Syria arrived the day before in Adygea "alone, without his parents and relatives."
In their comments, Facebook users expressed their readiness to help the young man.
As a result, the young man was settled in the village of Panakhes, Takhtamukay District of Adygea, into a repatriates' family, Asker Sokht told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"We've finished the registration procedure," said Mr Sokht. "After the holidays, on January 9, he will join the ninth form of school and start learning Russian."
The young man arrived in Adygea alone, with a written consent of his parents. His family is not able to leave Syria in full; therefore, his parents, brothers and sisters stay in a settlement near the city of Homs.
"The dragged-out war deprived them of their livelihood. There is no employment and no money. Of course, the family also wants to get out of Syria and live together. But for the six family members in their current situation, finding money for a ticket for the eldest son, so that he could continue his education, was very, very difficult," explained Asker Sokht.
