ICRF suspects policemen of Stavropol Territory of case falsifying
A resident of Georgievsk, accused of illegal possession of weapons, has told at the trial that he had received money from policemen for falsifying his case with the aim to improve their operative statistics. An investigation has been started in relation to the policemen.
According to investigators, in June 2015, operative agents of the criminal investigating division of the Georgievsk police department offered the 43-year-old drug addict "money in exchange for his confession of illegal acquisition and possession of smoothbore firearms."
The man agreed, and, according to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), during a meeting with the suspect, he received a sawn-off shotgun from them. Then, he was taken to an abandoned building; "they invited witnesses there, and called an investigating-operative group, which fixed a crime, allegedly committed by the victim." The amount of the man's deal with the police, as he admitted at the trial, was only 2500 roubles, says the message, posted on December 23 on the website of the Territorial Department of the ICRF.
