Workers of "Nairit" Factory accuse authorities of disrupting tender to restart chemical plant

According to former workers of the "Nairit" Factory, the fact that their chemical plant is recognized as a bankrupt casts doubt on a tender for the restart of the company.

Let us remind you that on November 28, the Yerevan Court granted the claim of the "Electric Networks of Armenia" (ENA) on recognition of the "Nairit" Rubber Factory as bankrupt.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Karen Israelyan, the former director of the "Nairit" Factory, that the recognition of the chemical plant as a bankrupt interferes with the tender announced by the Ministry of Energy to restart the rubber plant.

The former director of the plant believes that the European holding "EU-Asia Business Finance Centre", which has earlier announced its intention to invest in the "Nairit" Factory, will now refuses to participate in the tender.

The decision on the recognition of the "Nairit" Factory as a bankrupt came as a surprise to former workers of the chemical plant. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Karine Shakhverdyan, a former worker of the "Nairit" Factory.

"The decision on bankruptcy was made under the conditions of secrecy and lack of transparency of the judicial process," emphasized Karine Shakhverdyan. The woman has also added that the workers of the plant will continue their protests with the demand to resume production of rubber in the country.
