Armenian Telethon raises 15.4 million US dollars

This year, the annual Telethon organized by the All-Armenian "Hayastan" Foundation has raised 15,428,777 US dollars, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

This year, the Telethon was held under the slogan of "My Artsakh". All proceeds from the Telethon will be directed to restore the regions of Nagorno-Karabakh, affected by hostilities, and to ensure the safety of its residents.

The money raised by the Telethon will also be sent for construction of houses for families with many children. The All-Armenian Telethon has been held for the 19th time, the "Armenian Public TV" reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2015, the Telethon held under the slogan of "Our House" raised more than 10 million US dollars. The money was sent for construction of houses for families with many children and poor families of Artsakh. In 2014, organizers of the Telethon raised 12.4 million US dollars.

The largest amount of money was raised by the Telethon in 2008, when the amount of donations reached 35 million US dollars.
