Imam Magomednabi Magomedov placed into dungeon
Magomednabi Magomedov has been placed into a dungeon (punishment cell) for violation of the regime of detention at the SIZO (pre-trial prison). This was reported by the Department for the Rostov Region of the Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN). An advocate suggests that Magomednabi Magomedov was placed to the punishment cell for committing namaz (prayer).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 24, the North-Caucasian District Military Court found Magomednabi Magomedov, the imam of the "Eastern" mosque in Khasavyurt, guilty of inciting terrorism and sentenced him to five years of imprisonment in a common-security penal colony.
Today, according to Dagir Khasavov, an advocate of Imam Magomednabi Magomedov, he has been informed that his client was subjected to disciplinary action by the administration of the SIZO No. 1 of Rostov-on-Don and placed to the punishment cell.
The advocate has also reported that he "intends to fly to Rostov and meet officials of the SIZO administration." He has also noted that Article 40 of the Russian Criminal Executive Code stipulates placement to a punishment cell for wilful violation of the regime of detention and that "Magomednabi Magomedov could not commit any wilful violation."
Let us remind you that Imam Magomednabi Magomedov is recognized a political prisoner by the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial".
