In Krasnodar, workers of "Sedin" plant hold picket with demand to pay off wage arrears

Today, more than 50 workers of the machine-tool "Sedin" plant have held a picket in front of the administration of the Krasnodar Territory. The authorities claim they shall pay off the wage arrears to the workers only after the sale of the plant property.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the "Sedin" plant was declared bankrupt in May. However, still in 2015, the workers held actions with the demand to cover the wage arrears. On November 12, 2016, a group created by the workers in the social network "VKontakte" was blocked at the request of the Prosecutor's Office.

According to Svetlana Bessarab, the chair of the trade union, for the period from October 2014 to November 2016, the wage arrears to 151 workers of the "Sedin" plant exceeds 16 million roubles.

Sergey Altukhov, Vice Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, has reported that the property of the "Sedin" plant will be put up for sale in about one month, and it will be sold approximately by February. The Vice Governor has assured that the amount should be sufficient to cover the wage arrears, the "Bloknot" reports.

Let us remind you that top managers of the "Neftemash", another Krasnodar plant, announced the intention to become an investor for the "Sedin" plant.
