Three hundred people attend commemoration of "Nord-Ost" victims (+video)

The regional public organization for promoting the protection of victims of the "Nord-Ost" terror act has held a commemorative action in the Dubrovka Theatrical Centre on the 14th anniversary of the terror acts; the event was attended by about 300 people.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that October 23 marked 14 years since the capture by terrorists of civilians-spectators and performers in the musical "Nord-Ost" at the Dubrovka Theatrical Centre in Moscow. 130 people perished in the terror attack.

The event was attended by victims of the terror act and their relatives, officials of the Moscow Mayoralty, the local Prefecture, as well as public figures, show business professionals and foreign guests, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

In the square in front of the Theatrical Centre, on the steps, they lit 130 candles and set portraits of the casualties. People laid flowers.

The victims still have a lot of claims to the state, Svetlana Gubareva, now the editor of the website "nord-ost.org", who lost her 12-year-old daughter Alexandra Letyago in the attack and miraculously survived herself, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"We have a lot of claims both to quality of the inquiry, and the quality of medical aid, and to the rescue operation as such. In fact, the state has failed to answer a single question of those raised by the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), telling only about the preventive measures. Similarly, the state does nothing to help the victims and their families, who are hardly surviving, as they need duly qualified medical care," said Gubareva.
