Georgian nationalists crush Turkish restaurants in Tbilisi

In Tbilisi, law enforcers have detained 11 activists of the nationalist organization "Kartuli Dzala" (Georgian Power), who are suspected of involvement in riots in cafes and shops in Agmashenebeli   Avenue on September 27.

On September 27, activists of the "Kartuli Dzala" walked from Heroes' Square to the metro station Marjanishvili. In Agmashenebeli Avenue, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), they began to crush Turkish cafes and restaurants and shouted the slogan: "Glory of the nation is death to the enemy," reported the "Georgia-Online" on September 28.

A criminal case was instituted under Article "Disorderly conduct involving a group of persons by prior conspiracy, committed with use of firearms or other items used as weapons."

The riots involved more than fifty people in masks. Their march was dedicated to the "Day of the fall of Sukhumi." On Facebook, the page of the organization "Kartuli Dzala" contains threats against Turkish educational institutions in Batumi and demand for their closure.
