Advocate re-files motion on CER for Khaiser Djemilev
The defence of Khaiser Djemilev, a son of Mustafa Djemilev, one of the leaders of the Crimean Tatar movement, has repeatedly filed a motion to the Astrakhan court for conditional early relief. This was reported by advocate Nikolai Polozov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 10, 2015, the Krasnodar Regional Court sentenced Khaiser Djemilev to 3.5 years of imprisonment for manslaughter of a friend of his family members, as well as for theft and possession of weapons. On February 25, the Soviet District Court of Astrakhan dismissed the Khaiser Djemilev's motion for CER, and on April 28, the Court's decision was confirmed by the Astrakhan Regional Court.
According to the advocate, the imprisonment term of Khaiser Djemilev expires on November 26, 2016.
"We are asking the court to release him on CER prior to expiration of his imprisonment term. It is a necessary complement to our complaint to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), indicating the exhaustion of protection on the territory of Russia," noted Nikolai Polozov.
Meanwhile, the advocate has expressed his doubts concerning positive solution to the problem.
