Resident of Karachay-Cherkessia suspected of involvement in armed underground

Law enforcers have launched an investigation into a criminal case against a resident of Karachay-Cherkessia on the charge of involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF). The man is suspected of involvement in the hostilities in Syria.

According to the law enforcers, in July 2015, a 32-year-old resident of Karachay-Cherkessia left for Syria, where he was trained in a camp of militants and where he joined one of the armed groupings acting in Syria to take part in the combat actions against the government forces. The suspect is hiding from the law enforcement bodies in Syria, the MIA's website reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that according to Alexander Bortnikov, the chief of the Russian FSB, more than 260 people who are engaged abroad in plotting terror acts in Russia and other countries are put on the international wanted list.
