Cossack Fetisov's advocate complains about violation of his client's rights

On May 30, in the criminal case against Sergey Fetisov, accused of a large-scale fraud with land plots of the Adler Cossack Association, the court of Sochi did not start questioning defence witnesses and postponed the court hearing until June 6. According to the court, the reason for the postponement was in the fact that the defendant's advocate did not receive in due time the documents requested by him. The advocate himself claims violations of the judicial investigation and requires disqualification of the judge.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in June 2015, the Adler District Court of Sochi began the trial in the case against Sergey Fetisov, Deputy Ataman of the Adler Cossack Association of the Black Sea Cossack District of the All-Kuban Cossack Squadron on Land Issues.

According to investigators, in 2008, Sergey Fetisov embezzled money in the amount of 405,000 US dollars belonging to Sergey Finko and Nadezhda Kabanets. In exchange for the money, Sergey Fetisov offered them 0.5 hectares out of 11.4 hectares allocated to the Cossack Association in 1993; however, finally, Sergey Finko and Nadezhda Kabanets did not get those land plots.

Advocate Mikhail Okhrimenko has noted that six resolutions and 30 protocols given to him by a secretary of the court hearing were requested by him yet in the past year.

The Cossacks, who came to the court as witnesses, declared that they were preparing a civil claim to be filed to the court for recovery of their land plots from other people's illegal possession.

Sergey Fetisov has also stated he explained Sergey Finko and Nadezhda Kabanets that he and other members of the Cossack Association were also the injured parties, since the land plots "had been captured."
