Two villages of Samtskhe-Javakheti his by hail

Hail and heavy rain have destroyed crops in the villages of Varkhani and Untsa in the Adigeni District of the Samtskhe-Javakheti Region of Georgia, said Akaki Michutadze, the governor of the region.

According to his story, because of the rain, the Otskhi River went overbank and flooded the villages; and the hail destroyed the remaining crops.

"The water carried away cattle and poultry, and flooded houses. Rescuers are trying to pump out water from households, but it's still raining," the "Georgia Online" quotes Mr Michutadze as saying.

At night on May 30, heavy rains and hails destroyed almost the entire crops in the villages of Ebnisi, Mchadidjvari, Zemo Shuakhevi and Ananuri of the Dusheti District of Georgia. Roofs of houses, fruit trees and crops are damaged there. Local officials promise to recover the damage, the "Interfax" reports.
