Advocate reports on violations during investigation into Sergey Fetisov's case

In Sochi, in the course of the trial, the defence of Sergey Fetisov, accused in the case of fraud with land of the Adler Cossack Association, has noted to violations of the terms of the preliminary investigation into the case. The advocate has filed a motion to withdraw the relevant procedural documents from the case materials; however, the court has dismissed the motion.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in June 2015, the Adler District Court started criminal proceedings in the case against Sergey Fetisov, Deputy Ataman of the Adler Cossack Association of the Black Sea Cossack District of the All-Kuban Cossack Squadron on Land Issues. He is accused of fraud on a large scale.

On March 21, at the court hearing in the Sergey Fetisov's case, a public prosecutor was changed. Prosecutor Mikhail Galkin was replaced with his colleague Anastasiya Savelieva, who entered the trial.

The advocate has pointed out to the failure to comply with the requirements of Article 162 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation in extension of the preliminary investigation into the criminal case for a period exceeding 12 months.

It is expected that the defence will begin to present the evidence at the next court hearing.

  • Court releases Malgobek law enforcers accused of extortion
